Fun Family Days at Family Resorts

Fun Family Days at Family Resorts

By David H. Urmann

stock photo : Portrait of Happy Family Piled Up In Park     The most rewarding thing that you can give your kids for achieving in school would be an exciting family vacation. It may be an outdoor weekend holiday, a cruise, or an out of town escapade. Whatever your family desires, what is most important is that you will all enjoy your time together as a family.

Going out on a vacation with your family is always a good bonding moment. It is precious time that no amount of money could buy. The children will always appreciate the time their parents make to be with them. And for parents, the most wonderful gift they can give their children for being good in school and at home is to take them out on a vacation.

Is Your Company in Need of Family Therapy?

Is Your Company in Need of Family Therapy?

By Garrett Coan

How Companies Are Like Families
Like a family, a company is a group of people who have an ongoing relationship with one another. Companies have several things in common with families:
1. Families have distinct ways of communicating and degrees of togetherness. For example:
• Communication may be overt or covert.
• Relationships tend to be enmeshed (too close; overly involved) or disengaged (not at all close; uninvolved).
• Boundaries may be described as diffuse (extreme togetherness), rigid (extreme separateness), or clear (ideal and appropriate).

An Interesting Introduction to Psychology - Family Therapy

An Interesting Introduction to Psychology -
Family Therapy

Thus, therapy often starts with the construction of a genogram. The primary goal of Extended Family Systems Therapy is to encourage Differentiation of self, which is one's ability to separate their intellectual and emotional functioning. According to Extended Family Systems Therapy, Triangulation occurs when two family members in conflict involve a third person, which usually immobilizes the third person.
A practitioner of Extended Family Systems Therapy often joins a dyad, creating a Therapeutic triangle, in an attempt to reduce the original level of fusion and achieve higher self-differentiation.

Play Therapy Tips and Techniques

Play Therapy Tips and Techniques

By Tammy Stoner

Play therapy is increasing in popularity as a treatment tool. Search the internet and you will find loads of toys for the treatment provider. Most sell products and toys with no explanation as to how to apply the tools. Purchase a family of dolls without gender allowing the treatment provider to identify the gender. All based on a model that says that it's important to allow the therapist to help the client identify the toys the way the child wants to view them. The debate continues as to whether or not treatment is directive or reflective. Direct treatment processes often take an active approach to treatment.

How Do You Parent a Child With Problem Behavior?

How Do You Parent a Child With Problem Behavior?

By Dr. Jennifer Baxt, DMFT

stock photo : Angry mother complains about her teenage daughter in family therapy.     There are many families out there who have children who exhibit "bad" behavior. Few behavioral problems in children are a result of genetics or lack of intelligence. In fact, most behavioral problems are developed through the influence the children are exposed to. Children who appear to have difficulties in their behavior are usually reacting to their environment, difficulties in the family, problems at school or to a traumatic event they have suffered in the past, to name a few. In most cases, the "bad" behavior is a result of something; kids will usually have a reason for acting a certain way, though this fact is usually ignored.

Family Relationship Dynamics

Family Relationship Dynamics

By Alexis Quinones

There are many dynamics that make up a family unit. While most families have their problems not all of those problems should be dealt with behind closed doors and on your own. Many families need to reach out and ask for help when issues in their lives become to big for them to deal with. Your family relationships are the most important relationships you will develop in your lifetime as they will guide you as to what to look for in other relationships you develop later in your life.
